Thomas "sleeps through the night"

According to my baby books, a baby is sleeping through the night when they go for five hours from the beginning of one feeding to the beginning of the next. Last night Paul gave Tommy a bottle at 1:30 AM and I was not awake again to feed him until 6:30 AM. However, I was awake at 3:00 AM. We have white noise on the ipod going constantly while he sleeps. We have it on pretty loud so that he can hear the constant whoosh sound that I guess babies like. Anyway, at 3:00 AM the ipod must have short circuited because we woke up to Asia blaring from his bedroom. Paul rushed to turn it off and Tommy went right back to sleep, but Mommy had a little more trouble dozing off. Oh well- some progress at least!

Bath and Dancing with Daddy

Tommy doesn't mind a bath, but he hates the after bath. It takes some time to cuddle him in his towel before he calms down. Then his favorite part of what might become the bedtime ritual is dancing with Daddy. They turn on Chicago and gaze at each other. Tommy absolutely loves this.

Visit from Uncle Bobby

Uncle Bobby visited us for a couple of days to meet his new nephew. When Tommy is older we'll take him to San Diego to visit his uncle, who seemed to absolutely adore him.

Tommy's one week birthday

It has been one week today since Tommy was born. Here are some photos we took today. Tommy's first week has been a blur, but a happy one. We notice that we are both looking very tired in these pictures! That is because our baby prefers to sleep during the day and keep us awake all night!
